Please give it a chance, it's incredible. This book embodies that notion. If you had a boss who wasted as much time as you do, he would be fired. I think the term Godin kept using "art," could be confusing. Enjoyed the central message of the book which is It was something that happens to me with very few books these days. They are no longer aligned and most aren't noticing.

Some people get Seth, others don't and I am sure Seth is just fine with that. Thats not neccessarily a bad thing, unless you dont want to be a cog anymore. This summary doesn't do justice to the book so I'd recommend if you're in to that sort of thing, that you read it. He doesn't even offer anecdotes to justify these claims, deceptin least not in the audiobook.

And at a minimum, it was maddening. As always Seth inspires us to not wait to be picked, but instead get on and forge our on place in the world.

Thanks, I like that quote a lot as well! I'm feeling that Seth Godin is simply repeating the same point over and over again, and even though I don't want to quit in the middle of reading a book, I'm not getting much out of it so far.

But you need to find your unique offering, because if you just copy someone else, then customers will just go to that someone else. I think this book is valuable for those who are trying to stretch their wings, but it is a little less than genuine at points. We've been brainwashed by the industrial complex to fly too low, to comply, to surrender our brilliance for perceived security.
